A Message from Coyote
Aloha from the Sedona Vortex ✨
Yesterday, we were heading out for a hike when something magical stopped us in our tracks.
Right in the middle of a Sedona neighborhood, a coyote was just… lying there. Completely relaxed. Watching the world go by like she had nowhere to be and all the time in the world to get there.
I've seen coyotes cross roads, trot through the desert, and disappear into the brush like ghosts of the red rocks. But I don't think I've ever seen one simply rest like that.
It felt like a message.
In many traditions, Coyote is the sacred trickster. But trickster energy isn't about chaos for chaos' sake; it shows up when life is trying to wake us up.
Coyote carries the medicine of cleverness, adaptability, and perspective. This totem reminds us not to take everything quite so seriously. Sometimes the path opens not through force, but through curiosity… humor… and a willingness to see the situation from a completely new angle.
Coyote speaks truth about something most of us need to hear…
What if the thing you think is a problem… is actually the portal?
But yesterday's coyote added another layer to that wisdom.
She wasn't running. She wasn't hunting. She was resting.
And that felt like its own kind of teaching.
Even the trickster knows when to pause. When to observe. When to simply be part of the landscape instead of chasing through it.
There's a quiet intelligence in the natural world that we forget in our busy human lives. Animals move when it's time to move. They rest when it's time to rest. They respond to life instead of trying to control it.
Maybe that was the real medicine of that moment.
If Coyote crosses your path, especially in a moment of unexpected stillness, it may be asking you…
Where are you overworking the solution? Where could a little playfulness change everything? Where might a shift in perspective reveal a doorway you couldn't see before?
And maybe most importantly…
Where might it be time to simply trust the intelligence of the moment?
Because sometimes the most magical thing we can do is stop pushing so hard and let life unfold.
To pause. To watch. To breathe.
To relax into the wild intelligence of life itself.
And that is Everyday Magic. 🐾✨
